Pastor Frank D. Lewis, Sr.

  Frank Daniel Lewis, Sr. was born and raised in Uno, Virginia (Madison, County) and educated in the Madison County School System.  He graduated with the ‘Class of 1968,’ from Madison County High School, after 4 years at the George Washington Carver Regional High School (1963-1967).
 
Furthering his education, he attended Germanna Community College; his curriculum included courses related to Business and Supervision, in addition to various seminars at the Baptist General Convention of Virginia.
 
He served as a trustee, deacon, usher, and choir member, and is a “Lifelong member” of the Main Uno Baptist Church in Rochelle, Virginia.
 
Lead totally under the anointing and power of God to preach the Gospel, he was license in February 1982, and ordained in August 1982, at Main Uno Baptist Church, under Rev. Charles Sims.
 
He began his journey of Pastor, at Antioch Baptist Church in Madison, Virginia in 1982, and was installed in March of 1983; where he presently presides.  Through this journey, he also served concurrently as Pastor of Mt. Holy Baptist Church, in Unionville, Virginia from 1987 to 1995.
 
During his tenure, he has established many outreach ministries, which not only reaches people in the church - but in the community.  Believers Praise Worship and Outreach Ministries (BP-WOM) was a vision that he initiated in 2001.  Antioch Baptist Church is a body of believers that will continually praise, worship and always reach out to others.  His assistance with many organizations includes: the reconstruction and new organization of the George James Community Center; and founder / organizer of the Madison Association of Continued Equality (M.A.C.E.)
 
Rev. Frank D. Lewis, Sr. served as the Moderator of the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist Association, & Moderator of the Ministers and Deacons Union.  He also served on several civic organizations: NAACP, MESA (Madison Emergency Services Association), and Habitat for Humanity, just to name a few.  Currently, he is a member of the Madison Free Clinic Board and is the Chairperson of George Washington Carver Regional High School Alumni Association.
 
He is married to the former Shirley A. Sims; a union they embarked on in 1974.  He is a devoted father and grandfather; in addition, Pastor & Mrs. Lewis has fostered and taken many children into their home.
 
Pastor Lewis retired from Alleghany Power Company in February 2006, after 32 years of service, and now dedicates his life for the ministry of the gospel, missions and community service.  He currently resides in Radiant, Virginia.
